Celtic Financial Planning achieves B Corp status highlighting commitment beyond financial advice
An independent Chartered financial planning firm has achieved B Corporation (Corp) status as part of its continued focus on raising standards of business and community impact.
North Wales-based Celtic Financial Planning (FP) secured certification with an impact score of 90.8, comfortably exceeding the required threshold of 80, despite only starting the application process in October 2025.
Many companies spend up to 18 months from application to obtaining B Corp, with the speed of Celtic FP’s success testament to the existing and ingrained behaviours and activity.
The firm, which is headquartered in Mold and has offices in St Asaph and London, is believed to be the first Chartered financial planning business in Wales to achieve the certification.
The milestone recognises its performance across governance, client service, employee wellbeing, community engagement, and environmental impact, reflecting an approach that goes beyond traditional financial advice.
Rob Lewis, founder and managing director, said: “Earning B Corp status is something the whole team is incredibly proud of.
“Of the more than 2,000 UK B Corps, about 700 have a score of between 80 and 81, so we’re naturally thrilled with our score of close to 91.
“We’ve always believed in doing business in the right way, and when we founded Celtic Financial Planning, we were determined to create a place where we wanted to work ourselves.
“From only starting the process in October to achieving the status in such a short space of time validates what we’ve been building over a number of years.
“We’d also like to thank Laura Hothersall from Truth, who we engaged to support us in our B Corp journey. Laura was fantastic and helped make the process as seamless as possible.”
Celtic FP provides independent, FCA-authorised financial guidance to individuals, families and business owners, with a focus on long-term planning and lasting customer relationships.
As part of its advice process, the team discusses environmental, social and governance (ESG) and ethical investment preferences with clients, with a proportion of client funds invested in such solutions.
In addition to its customer work, the company maintains a carbon positive position by offsetting more emissions than it produces and sourcing all office electricity from renewable providers. It has also planted 2,385 native trees since 2019 in partnership with the North Wales Wildlife Trust.
Celtic FP continues to back local charities, community groups, and grassroots sport, while also operating a four-day working week with no reduction in pay.
Achieving B Corp status reflects the firm’s wider approach to responsible business practices, alongside its ongoing commitment to meeting Financial Conduct Authority Consumer Duty requirements.
Certified B Corps are companies verified by B Lab to meet high standards of social and environmental performance, accountability, and transparency.
Rob added: “This is not the end point for us. It gives us a strong platform to keep improving and to keep doing more for our clients, our team, and the wider community.
“We have exciting plans for the future, including exploring opportunities to create a community woodland to support schools, charities, and local groups, as well as continuing to enhance our sustainable operations.”
