COLEG CAMBRIA will host this year’s Welsh Baccalaureate Volunteering Fairs.
Flintshire Local Voluntary Council (FLVC) announced the return of the annual events – now bigger and better with two sessions to be held this October.
The first will take place at Deeside Sixth Form Centre on Monday (October 6) from 11am–2pm, followed by a second date at Northop library on Thursday October 9 from 11am–1.30pm.
The Volunteering Fair gives students the chance to meet local organisations, discover a wide range of volunteering opportunities, and learn how they can make a real difference in their communities while gaining valuable skills and experience.
Last year’s event proved hugely popular, attracting more than 300 students to the Deeside campus alone.
With two planned this autumn, FLVC expects even greater engagement from both students and voluntary organisations.
“We’re thrilled to be bringing the Volunteering Fair back, and grateful to Coleg Cambria for once again providing such excellent venues,” said Emily Morgan, Volunteering Development Officer at FLVC.
“It’s a fantastic opportunity for our students to explore meaningful roles with charities and community groups, while also helping organisations connect with the next generation of volunteers.”
She added: “The Welsh Baccalaureate places a strong emphasis on community engagement and personal development, so events like this are invaluable in showing learners how volunteering can boost their confidence, broaden their horizons, and give them practical experience beyond the classroom.
“Not only does volunteering help them make a positive impact locally, but it also strengthens their CVs, university applications, and future job prospects. We’re confident this year’s fairs will be bigger and better than ever.”
Organisations interested in hosting a stand are encouraged to book as soon as possible, as spaces are limited and expected to fill quickly.
