West End Health has officially opened in Colwyn Bay (Friday), with demand already exceeding expectations ahead of launch — signalling strong market appetite for premium, preventative healthcare in North Wales.
Founded by lifelong friends Aaron Ferguson and Andy Boyd, alongside Dr Trevor Ferguson, the clinic introduces a scalable, private GP-led preventative healthcare model designed to meet growing demand for faster access, longer consultations and proactive wellbeing support.
The service targets individuals and families seeking continuity of care and earlier intervention — a model increasingly recognised as critical to long-term health outcomes and workforce productivity.
Operating from state-of-the-art facilities within the established West End Dental on Conway Road, the team aims to bring “a premium standard of care to a local setting”.
Andy said interest had significantly outpaced projections, despite announcing their arrival just two months ago.
“We set ourselves clear targets ahead of launch and the response from local families has been overwhelming,” he said.
“We’ve had an incredible number of people get in touch, with some families signing up within days of the announcement.
“It’s been a really strong start, and we’re now seeing additional enquiries from people who wanted to wait until we were officially open.”
Early traction has been driven by Founder Membership uptake, with many securing locked-in renewal rates and the majority joining as families — providing a strong recurring-revenue base from launch.
“That family uptake is a brilliant foundation for the future,” said Andy.
“It shows there’s a real appetite for joined-up preventative care people can rely on over the long term.”
Demand has extended well beyond Colwyn Bay, with members joining from across Conwy, Denbighshire and the wider North Wales region — reinforcing the clinic’s potential as a regional healthcare hub.
The founders also confirmed early discussions with local employers exploring staff wellbeing memberships, positioning the service as part of a broader business health strategy focused on prevention, reduced absenteeism and improved employee engagement.
They are scheduled to present their model and employer support options at a North Wales Business Club event in March.
“We’ve had people willing to travel for high-quality care and for our annual health assessments which have proven to be a real point of difference,” said Aaron.
“People are placing their trust in us and we’re very grateful for that. We’re proud to have a place at the heart of this community.”
West End Health has launched with four experienced clinicians, offering same-day GP access where appropriate, alongside pre-bookable appointments, extended consultations and comprehensive annual medical and dental assessments.
Membership numbers are intentionally capped to protect access, experience and clinical quality — supporting a sustainable, high-touch care model that complements existing NHS services.
“We have four clinicians of the highest standard, all with huge experience and genuine excitement about this new proposition for the area,” said Andy.
“It’s about delivering consistently high-quality care in a way that feels personal.”
Building on early momentum, the founders confirmed additional membership packages are already in development. Due to strong demand, the Founder Membership offer has also been extended for a limited period.
Looking ahead, the team reiterated plans to expand beyond Colwyn Bay, developing a multi-site model of joined-up preventative care across North Wales — and in time, further afield.
“We’re delighted to finally be open,” said Trevor.
“The response here in Colwyn Bay has been really positive and it’s exciting to see how the coming months unfold as we look to grow.”
