A long-term vision to develop women and girls’ football in Mold has been accelerated thanks to key sponsorship from a PR and communications agency.
Outwrite PR has backed Mold Alexandra FC’s mission to grow its women and girls’ section from grassroots to competitive level starting with its 20-strong Girls Fun Football team.
Aimed at years one to six, the sponsorship has already seen the squad receive new official training shirts, water bottles, and drawstring bags embedded with the company’s logo.
Funds have also helped the club purchase several key pieces of equipment including numbered flat disc markers, multi-coloured cones, carry bags, and first aid kits.
In addition, the agency’s support will invest in the next generation of coaches, with over-16s given the chance to gain practical experience with the club and earn Football Association of Wales (FAW) qualifications.
Mold Alexandra FC coach Joe Couchman also aims to start a recreational football group females aged 16 and above with the funds contributing towards 3G astroturf pitch hire.
He said: “Having initially run Girls Fun Football for school years one to three only, Outwrite’s backing has been crucial in helping us open our sessions up to more youngsters, which is brilliant.
“The new kit also marks an important step in making sure the girls feel they are truly part of a team, something that’s needed to encourage them to continue playing and training with us.
“As we continue to grow, I’m hoping we’ll naturally start to see the formation of teams with those who wish to take it more competitively, so we can enter The North East Wales FA (NEWFA) system.
“Without the support, none of this would have been possible, so I’m very thankful for all the help we’ve received.”
Outwrite PR managing director Anthony Bullick said: “This is about more than just providing new training kit and gear; this is about powering a passionate and ambitious vision to see more women and girls in and around Mold get involved in sports.
“Whether that be through coaching, training, or playing competitively, it’s great to contribute to this long-term mission, and we look forward to seeing how the club will continue to evolve going forwards.”
Mold Alexandra FC’s men’s first team plays in the Cymru North division, with the club having an active youth set up at all age groups.
The sponsorship builds upon the agency’s other charitable activities including its annual PR and marketing conference, which is free for the third sector to attend, and its yearly support of Mold Novemberfest.
Outwrite’s clients include Wynne Construction, Jones Bros Civil Engineering UK, Warrington-based Watsons Solicitors, and engineering, environmental, and planning consultancy Caulmert.
The agency specialises in integrated PR, crisis PR, and online reputation management.
