Unlock Your Future: £400 Bonus on Offer at Coleg Cambria’s Bilingual Careers Event

Posted on

Welsh speakers are being encouraged to take the next step in their careers with Coleg Cambria at a dedicated bilingual recruitment event — with a £400 welcome bonus available for eligible new starters.

Taking place on Wednesday, April 29 at the college’s Yale site in Wrexham, Gyrfa Gymraeg @ Cambria will provide a relaxed and informal opportunity to meet staff, learn about available roles, and discover how Welsh language skills can be used in the workplace.

The event is designed to attract bilingual talent into key roles across the college, including teaching, business support, and pathways for those looking to move from industry into education.

Running from 4.30pm to 6.30pm, attendees can drop in at any time, with short presentations scheduled for 5pm and 6pm.

Llinos Roberts, Director of Welsh Language Development at Coleg Cambria, said: “Developing a confident, bilingual workforce is central to our vision.

“This event is about connecting with Welsh-speaking communities and showing how valuable those language skills are in a professional setting. We’re committed to supporting staff at every stage of their Welsh language journey and creating more opportunities to use Welsh in the workplace.”

Visitors will have the chance to chat informally with Welsh-speaking staff over refreshments, with no formal interviews, while gaining insight into the college’s supportive and inclusive working environment.

Jack Swift, HR Business Partner at Coleg Cambria, added: “We want to make it as easy as possible for people to explore a career with us. Whether you’re already in education or coming from industry, this event is a chance to ask questions, make connections and see what a future here at the college would look like.”

The college is particularly keen to hear from professionals in sectors such as construction, engineering, healthcare, and digital, offering supported routes into teaching — including the opportunity to gain a PGCE while in post.

Coleg Cambria also offers tailored Welsh language development, training for bilingual delivery, and incentives for staff who use Welsh in their roles.

Those interested in attending are encouraged to register in advance, as places are limited.
