Planning Consultancy Fuels Regional Growth With New Senior and Graduate Jobs Drive
Fresh investment in people is helping Cadnant Planning accelerate its North West expansion, with new senior and graduate roles announced following a surge in major development projects across Cheshire, North Wales and the wider region.
The fast-growing consultancy is recruiting an Associate Director to support its momentum in Chester, alongside a Planner and/or Senior Planner based from its Conwy headquarters, as workloads rise on high-value schemes spanning housing, infrastructure and renewable energy.
The newly created Associate Director position is designed to strengthen Cadnant’s commercial footprint across Chester, Wrexham and surrounding areas, with the business seeking an experienced planning professional who brings an established regional network and a strong delivery track record.
Managing Director Sioned Edwards said the recruitment drive reflects a buoyant start to the year and a robust pipeline of work across Wales and the North West.
“We’re seeing significant organic growth and some very substantial projects coming forward,” she said.
“We’re involved in large housing schemes, renewable energy developments, major infrastructure proposals and complex mixed-use projects. It has been a fantastic start to the year, and we need people who can come in and make a real difference.
“For Chester especially, we’re looking for someone ready for a new challenge – someone who can build on our existing foundations, increase our regional presence and help drive the next phase of growth.
“It’s a great opportunity for an experienced planner in the private sector who wants greater responsibility and real influence over regional development.”
Alongside senior appointments, Cadnant Planning continues to build its long-term talent pipeline through its annual graduate recruitment programme, working closely with Aberystwyth University and Cardiff University to support students and graduates on their journey towards chartership with the Royal Town Planning Institute.
“There are opportunities here at every level,” said Sioned.
“From graduates just starting out, to senior professionals looking for their next move, we’re committed to building a team that combines experience with fresh thinking.”
She added: “Planning is a hugely rewarding career, you’re shaping our towns, cities and communities, and no two days are ever the same.”
Cadnant’s expanding project portfolio spans housing, renewable energy, leisure, civil engineering, care and strategic infrastructure, with recent growth driven by larger-scale developments and complex planning work supporting town centres, education facilities and local economies.
Led by Sioned alongside founder Rhys Davies, the award-winning consultancy works with developers, landowners, housing associations, education providers and infrastructure partners across the UK.
The bilingual team is also keen to hear from professionals in related sectors with transferable skills aligned to planning, construction and the built environment.
“The right people are out there, and now is the time to join us,” added Rhys.
“We’re delivering major projects, investing in people and building something long-term. There’s a real opportunity here to be part of a growing business that’s helping shape the future of our region.”
