40 Years Strong: Salisbury’s Doubles Workforce and Expands into North East Wales

Posted on

Salisbury’s Chartered Accountants is celebrating its 40th anniversary with a surge in growth, a major merger, and a workforce that has doubled in just two years—signalling a bold new phase for the firm.

The business has strengthened its footprint in north east Wales through the acquisition of HB Chartered Accountants in Mold, a well-regarded practice previously led by Hilary Baines. The move reflects rising demand for Salisbury’s services and its ambition to deepen its regional presence.

As part of the transition, Vanessa Blanchard, Chartered Accountant, and Accounts Administrator Abigail Bowers-Baines have joined Salisbury’s, ensuring continuity and familiar faces for clients.

The Mold office, located on Chester Street in the town centre, will be led by Senior Executive Manager Hannah Addison alongside chartered accountant Luke Owen.

This latest addition joins Salisbury’s existing offices in Ruthin, Beaumaris, Llangefni and Menai Bridge, along with its headquarters in St Asaph.

Director Aled Roberts said: “Reaching 40 years in business is something we’re incredibly proud of. The pace of growth over the last few years has been phenomenal.

“To double our team in just two years and open new offices shows the strength of the relationships we’ve built and the trust clients place in us.

“Moving into Mold is a big step for us. We’re excited to be part of a thriving local business community and to support more companies and individuals while creating opportunities locally.”

The expansion brings total staff numbers to almost 50. In just six years, Salisbury’s has grown from a single office to six, while maintaining the core values and close client relationships it was built on.

Director Caryl Rees added: “Growth is important, but not at the expense of who we are. We’ve worked hard to keep that personal, friendly approach while investing in digital systems that make life easier for our clients.

“Whether we’re working with a large organisation or an individual, the approach is the same – accessible, responsive and supportive. Our bilingual team and focus on developing our people have played a huge part in that.”

The firm’s directors are Aled Roberts, Caryl Rees, Jeremy Salisbury and Jason Matischok. Several senior leaders, including Hannah Addison, began their careers as trainees with the practice, highlighting Salisbury’s long-standing commitment to developing talent from within.

The latest milestone follows the recruitment of six new team members last autumn, including trainee accountants, as the firm continues to invest in future growth. Existing employees have also stepped into senior leadership roles, further strengthening the management team.
